Getting started
What do I need?
An iPhone or iPad, a MeshCore companion radio running Bluetooth companion firmware (for example a Seeed T1000-E, Heltec or RAK board), and repeaters or room servers your radio can reach on the mesh.
How do I pair my radio?
Open the Settings tab and tap to pair at the top. iOS shows its own pairing sheet; pick your radio there. Once paired, the radio also appears in iOS Settings under Mesh Stats. If a radio doesn't appear, make sure it's powered on, running companion firmware rather than repeater firmware, and not connected to another app.
My new radio can't hear any repeaters
Your radio must use exactly the same frequency, bandwidth, spreading factor and coding rate as your local mesh. In the Settings tab, pick your region from the presets, or match the settings your local repeaters use. If your mesh uses 2- or 3-byte path hashes, set that too. Then send a flood advert so nearby nodes learn about your radio.
Checks and logins
"No login reply" — but the repeater is up
A repeater ignores logins it doesn't accept rather than answering with an error. The usual cause is a password: if the repeater has a guest password set, logging in with a blank password fails silently. Enter the repeater's admin or guest password in the node's settings. A trace ping (which needs no password) will tell you whether the repeater is reachable at all.
Why do I see more sensors with a password?
MeshCore repeaters only share battery voltage and their own chip temperature with guests. Environment sensors such as humidity and pressure are sent only to logged-in admins.
How often are nodes checked?
You choose an interval for each node. Checks run while the app is open, and in the background when iOS allows it — background time is decided by iOS, so the schedule is best-effort. Opening the app runs any checks that are due.
My radio's clock is wrong
The radio section of the Settings tab shows how far the radio's clock is from your phone's, with a button to sync it. MeshCore radios refuse to set their clock backwards, so if it is ahead, restart the radio and then sync.
Maps and charts
What does the airtime layer mean?
Airtime is the share of time a repeater's radio spent sending or receiving over roughly the last day. Above about 25%, LoRa packets collide much more often, so red and purple cells are congested. Older firmware doesn't report receive airtime, so those nodes count only their own transmissions.
Why are some traffic bars tall with gaps between them?
Traffic is the change in a node's counters between one check and the next, credited to the hour of the later check. Shorter check intervals give a smoother chart.
Does my data sync between devices?
Yes, through your own private iCloud, when iCloud is enabled. See the privacy policy for details.
